Where good neighbours become good friends

The thought of moving into a new home in a new neighbourhood can be daunting. With so much to think about already, it can be difficult to navigate forming bonds amongst a sea of new neighbours.
At Carolina, a budding AVID neighbourhood in Deanside, Victoria, residents get the chance to connect with their future neighbours before move-in day even arrives.
A sunny Sunday morning made the perfect backdrop for the most recent Meet Your Neighbours event. Over a delicious morning tea and beverages from the famous Carolina coffee cart, over 65 recently settled residents came together at the Sales and Information centre to meet their future neighbours and share the happiness around.
For Naresh, a first-time home buyer, meeting his soon-to-be neighbours helped squash any nerves about the big move.
“We didn’t really know what to expect from a brand-new community like Carolina. However, getting to know everyone here today has been really important for us, and we can’t wait to move into a neighbourhood with connections already made.”
Similarly, newly settled ‘Carolin-ians’ the Rishi family, who are just months away from completing their dream home, said the event had only increased their anticipation about moving into Carolina.
“We’ve had the chance to meet so many of our new neighbours and being able to chat about the home-buying journey we’ve all been on recently was fantastic.”
“We can’t wait to see more events just like this – bringing neighbours together and sharing quality time in the community.”
In all AVID communities, placemaking and community building are of the utmost importance. Carolina’s Meet Your Neighbours events not only give residents like Naresh and the Rishi Family the opportunity to form meaningful connections with their fellow residents, but also offers an authentic introduction to the community spirit that Carolina aims to foster.
Between AVID’s famous Long Table Dinners, Easter, Christmas, and even Diwali events, Carolina’s newest neighbours are given plenty of opportunities to build lifelong connections and create a support network for years to come.
The Carolina neighbourhood is 60% complete with land now selling. Visit https://carolina.staging1.avid.com.au/ for more details on the community’s events calendar and neighbourly spirit.
