Chisholm Christmas Tradition Continues in 2025

In Chisholm, locals came together in festive spirit for an evening of Carols, sweet treats and Christmas light displays whilst supporting fundraising initiatives for Maitland-based organisations.

The Waterford by AVID Property Group (AVID) community came together on December 13 at the annual Waterford Christmas Carols for an evening of entertaining performances, photos with Santa and celebrating the event’s ninth year of fundraising.

AVID NSW General Manager Danny Boubli said the event offered an array of very merry Christmas themed entertainment and activities for residents to enjoy.

“Every year the Carols provide a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the entire Waterford community and recognise the efforts made year-round to promote togetherness and our famous neighbourly spirit,” Mr Boubli said.

It’s our pleasure at AVID to put together an event that has become a mainstay of the community, especially at the time of year when we naturally come together to celebrate Christmas and the year that was.

In 2025, the Waterford Christmas Carols supported the Salvation Army, Thornton Fire Brigade and the East Maitland Lions Club with a community-wide food and gift drive and gold-coin donation upon entry and for food kindly prepared by the Lions Club.

Mr Boubli was thrilled to present the total contributions to the three benefiting organisations following the Carols, the result of a neighbourhood-wide effort to bring the Christmas spirit beyond Waterford.

“It’s equally important to us that our Christmas event is an opportunity to relax and enjoy a great night while also spreading the Christmas spirit to community members in need,” Mr Boubli said.

Waterford truly comes to life at Christmastime with the very best of the neighbourhood on display – it’s amazing to see the entire community embrace the Carols, Christmas lights competition and make our corner of Maitland an amazing place to be at this time of year.

Throughout the evening, attendees enjoyed a delicious sausage sizzle hosted by the East Maitland Lions Club, a visit from Santa and his elves, jumping castles, face painting, Christmas themed photobooth, Thornton Fire Brigade truck, a live band and entertainers and a fantastic performance by Starz on Stage dance school.

Also announced during the evening were the winners of Waterford’s annual Christmas lights competition, which was once again hotly contested between more than 20 brightly lit homes.
