Meant to be

Sometimes everything just falls into place. For Chloe and Jackson that was exactly what happened when they purchased their block in AVID’s Covella community, putting an end to a five month search for their first home together.

Primary school teacher Chloe and plasterer Jackson first met and became friends in high school, the start of a beautiful connection.

“We married about a year ago and we knew that we wanted to purchase a home as quickly as we could. As soon as I secured my first teaching contract and Jackson finished his trade apprenticeship, we went straight to the bank to start the process,” Chloe said.

Chloe admits the search was anything but easy.

“We spent weekend after weekend going to look at different houses, blocks and apartments, but everyone else had the same idea – after five months this became really deflating.”

Coincidentally, while their house hunting was in full swing, Jackson had been working on some homes in the Greenbank area, including some in Covella.

“We’d heard good things about the neighbourhood, so we decided to go and have a look together. We drove around one weekend, and we saw lots of young families. We thought, this is really cool, we would love to be part of a neighbourhood where everyone is young and has the same goals,” said Chloe.

In a serendipitous turn of events, a new land release was launching the week after the couple’s visit to the neighbourhood.

“We were away the weekend of the release, but we came home a day early to chat to the sales team about purchasing a block. When we arrived, they had already sold out, we were devastated.”

After putting their details down, they were in luck when one of the buyers fell through. “We got a phone call from the team asking if we wanted to take it. We just thought it was too good of an opportunity to pass up, so that’s when we got our block.”

Chloe explained it’s been a really exciting time for the couple as they receive updates from the AVIDConnect portal on their block’s progress.

“It’s also been great with Jackson working on some of the homes because he’ll check in on ours and keep me updated.”

“We’re hoping to be moved in early this year and just focus on building our circle with new people, in a new community.”
